I have been at the practice since November 1987 having qualified at Birmingham University Medical school in 1981. I then worked in hospitals around Birmingham before coming to Hobs Moat after working for a time in Australia.
I am a GP trainer, helping to teach newly qualified GP registrars. Whilst enjoying the whole breadth of General Practice I have specialist interests in child health and development (and am a child health surveillance trainer), asthma and chest medicine and minor surgery. I also hold weekly ‘Well Man Clinics’.
When I can escape my wife and children I’m afraid you will find me on the golf course or at Villa Park!

I graduated from Southampton university in 1984and joined the practice in 1991. I have seen many changes both in general practice as a whole and in our own practice. I thoroughly enjoy my work as a GP, especially getting to know patients over a period of time and understanding the psychological aspects of illness. I enjoy working as a team and being involved in the teaching of medical students.

I started in General Practice in 1991, after qualifying in Biochemistry and Chemistry at Manchester University (1st class hons) and then going on to qualify in Medicine at Birmingham University. I undertook my postgraduate training in West Midlands, having worked in Sutton Coldfield, Kidderminster and QueenElizabeth / Selly Oak Hospitals.
I am enthusiastic and forward-looking regarding all fields of General Practice, but my particular interests lie in prescribing, research and GP training, having been a trainer in this practice since 1998. My interest in research entails work with patients in several areas of study, and I run the diabetic clinic at this surgery.
On the domestic front, I am married with four children, including twins and am keen on outdoor pursuits, particularly cycling, running and skiing.

I enjoy all aspects of being a GP, but have a particular interest in women and childrens’ health.
Outside work, my time is largely taken up with family and friends although I do find time to go to the gym, read and travel.
